The Hallway; a Work In Progress (*Updated)
Things are moving quickly with the flat. To show the work that's been done so far, here are a few before and during pictures. With a bit of luck, the "after" pictures should just be a couple of weeks away...
To start with, the Hallway.
As you come through the front door and up the stairs, you used to be faced with walls that were covered in textured wallpaper that were painted a rather violent shade of yellow. (At least, that was the latest of the coats of paint.)

We were a bit worried about the amount of work that it was going to take to get rid of that wallpaper in virtually every room. Turned out that when you're pulling all the plaster off the walls, it's not so much of an issue.

*UPDATED* 29/3/08
The wall be the stairs now has a little shelf where there was previously just an odd curve, that will no doubt end up filled with nick nacks. (Or, more likely, Ewoks.)
Looking down from the top of the stairs, things used to be even more brightly coloured with the light from the window bouncing off the insanely bright walls. But things look a bit different again when you take away the colourful painted wallpaper (and half the wall beneath.) Note the subtly disguised pipes on the left that are now gone and concealed... Heading down the hall towards the back of the house;

Things got pretty stripped down here- this is where the most rebuilding went on; looking back the other way, you could see through the "wall" on the right into the kitchen/bathroom/toilet.

Then the walls went up again, and got a coating of plaster (*UPDATE* 29/3/08- and a coat of paint);

Next, will be a look at what's been happening on the other side of the new wall on the right.
